MANSON, DIRECTOR A recent report by our district inspector indicates that you are continuing to operate an auto sales business at North 12 Adams Road without a change in use permit and subsequent inspections. Section 502 of the Uniform Building Code states that "no change shall be made in the ... use of any building which would place the building in a different division of the same group of occupancy or in a different group of occupancies, unless such building is made to comply with the requirements of this code..." In addition, "no change in the character of occupancy of a building shall be made without a Certificate of Occupancy... 11 As you are aware, a permit application for the change -in -use from a residence to an auto sales operation was submitted May 31, 1988 but is still pending further action on your part in order to obtain the permit. Therefore, we must require that you proceed immediately with the necessary steps to either obtain the permit or abandon the use. A recheck of our records will be made on or before July 18, 1988 in order to verify that the proper action has been taken to resolve this matter. Sincerely yours, Jeffrey ry y E.
