Discovery. Place cul de sac which provides access to Valley YMCA, and
future Mirabeau Point community facilities.
PROPOSED DESIGN DEVIATION
Landscape island in center of Discovery Place cul de sac as
shown on the attached drawing.
JUSTIFICATION The cul de sac will serve as the main entrance to Mirabeau Point and the
community facilities planned at this location. The design has been reviewed by County
Fire District No.1 and the Spokane Transit Authority. With the addition of drop -off
lanes beyond the existing curb and signage to prohibit parking on the cul de sac, the
Fire District and Spokane Transit Authority (STA) are in agreement with the design. The
drop -off lanes will be added with the construction of the community facilities.
Mirabeau Point is envisioned as the community center for the Valley. As such the entry
is intended to invite the public to the facilities. Mirabeau Point Inc. is committed to
construct and maintain the landscape island and will execute the necessary agreements
with the County.
