Dear Ramey Construction,
In conducting a preliminary review of your submitted plans, I hopefully request a clarification on
a few points listed below.
• 1.) Structures over 4,000 sq. ft. require an Architect's or Engineer's stamp and signature
on the submitted plans as per the City of Spokane Valley Municipal Code Section
10.15.010 and RCW 18.08.410.
• 2.) Files and documentation of previous construction for this structure indicates type V
lhr throughout. All penetrations will require fire rated assemblies as per Sections 712 and
716 of the IBC.
• 3.) Sheet A1.1 indicates removing drywall ceiling and replacing with ceiling grid tile.
Any replacement of materials will require meeting minimum fire rating for construction
type as per Section 711 of the IBC, please indicate rated tile /material.
• Sheet A1.2 illustrates partially shaded troffer lights, is this indicating emergency lighting
panels as required per Section 1006 of the IBC?
• 5.) Need cross - section detail of fitting room.
• 6.) Sheet A1.3, Bench seat in fitting room needs to be 20 inches minimum in depth as per
Section 903.3, ANSI A117.1.
• 7.) Please indicate in writing if you are using existing lighting and HVAC system which
will meet minimum NREC requirements and will not require an analysis or report as per
51 -11, WAC.

included an 42" long x 18" high bench in the dressing room and the emergency lighting
labeled as such.
