As of this date, not all of the pronerty owners among the
undersigned have received notification of this hearinp-, to be
held May 7th, and some were notified only yesterday. We
certainly feel this is very short notice, and for this reasan
i.t is impossible for most to arrange to attend. We also are
•NQndering about going ahead with this hea.ring when some pror_-
erty owners have received no notices at all, and have not had
trr, urrw~ ng about this proposed zone change.
I-r ou r,_,n-ler~' ~~nding that the Spokane C ounty Planning
Commission had changed the requirements for lot size on which
luplexes could be built to assure that they be built on larger-,
more stuitable lots. The above 1 ot does not come undeE these
-inecifications, and we see no reason for granting this change.
Three of these duplexes have already been built on the hHOn
block of Michielli in the past few months. This would seem -lo

in one block of residentiai homes.
We recommend this variance request be refused f'or the
f'o11 nwing reasons i
1. Lot is too small for a dunlex.
2. Present 2onina was set u1a to prevent building of
duplexes on small lots with no yard and play area, and
which would not look as attractive in a residential
nes.'rhborhood because of this.
3. There are presentl.y three of these dwellings on 8800
block of Michielli (all practically identical in design
