Gentlemen:
Joan Miller has asked for a trailer permit stating tnat
she wants help with baby sitting and taxes.
In the trailer denial for October 3, 1966, the reasons given
to the Millers were as follows :
l. The property in question is located in an area wllere
there are a number of single family dwellings on small acreage
parcels. Also, that the area is changing towards residential
development which would be effected by the establishment of
trailer units in the area.
2. The zoning adjuster cannot find justification for a
variance to allow two residential units on substandard lot
frontage in accordance with section 4.25.030-b. The cir-
cumstances surrounding this application is, in the opinion of
the zoning adjuster, personal convenience rather than hardship
to the applicant.
The woman who lives in the trailer nas race horses and much
. of her time is spent away from home, going from one race
✓ track to another. So I cannot see how she is able to do mucn
baby sitting.
Joan does not work, and two of the children are in grade
~ school, with the oldest girl in junior high. why would s:ze
need help with baby sitting?
As for paying the taxes, we have heard she plans on being
married in February and it should not be any more of a hard-
ship for her to pay her taxes than anyone else.
The zoning adjuster stated in the denial of August, 1973, for
the Frank Sandersons, that it set up a precedent for other
rental trailers. This property is 18024 Indiana.

In tlie conditions for a trailer permit for the Millers in
April 1970, the conditions were as follows:
1. The trailer shall be located on the property in question
in accordance with the requirements of a single family
dwelling as prescribed in Chapter 4.04 of Title 4.
2. Sewage facilities and water supply shall be installed
as prescribed by the County Iiealtr. Department.
3. Tiie trailer snall be snirted ancl shall display a current
trailer license, etc.
To our knowledge these things have not been carried out.
Mr. Ken Nelson, owner of the Greenacres Water Works, said no
separate water supply has been installed - plus the trailer
was illegally on the property to begin with, without a
proper permit. It had no shirting - only bales of straw and
ithe property has only one septic tank.
We hope you will take all of these things into consideration
before making your decision.

Dear Mr. Blegen :
.I hope tnis letter may help in making your decision on
the trailer permit for Joan Miller. She has had this
trailer on her property with an illegal permit of the
Batterman's, which they knew notizing about until this
week.
She liad two trailers this summer and then this fall at
one time, tnere were three trailers. Certainly these
trailers were without proper sewage.
Joan does not have any garbage pickup, and we loo}: out
aur back yard most of the time to four uncovered over-
flowing barrels. An extra trailer does not help matters
here.
A trailer permit for Frank Sanderson was denied this
summer, stating that they felt this area should be r;ept a
residential area. This is the property across the street.
We hope you will take these things into consideration.
In this case it sounds like she isn't interested in making
it a n~,-~,anPxit.- home like we have.
There are many other problems which I hope won't be
necessary to bring out. We feel we are the neighbors
closest to them and have the most to lose.

We are unable at this time to attend the hearin concerning thr
trailer permit applied for by Joan Miller E. 1~203 Indiana, how ever,
we hope this letter wi_1J. do -for our interest in this matter.
we still object to trailer homes in this Agricultural Zoned Area,
it_iLeem4 _.e_kar_y__fewthis. It depreciates
the-vralue of the homes surrounding the property, also there is not
enough frontage for two homes as the Zoning 4rdinance requires.
It has always been our understanding that each home was to have its
own sewer system, to the best of our knowledge there is only one
septic tank on the property, and the trailer is not close enouFh
for the use of it. Please ask about this.
There are several nice trailer courts within a few blocks if the
barn area i.s to be used to stable race horses as it is now being used
we see nc, reason the rentors could not communicate from trai?er to
stable.
As for a hardship permit, Mrs.Miller, I believe is on Welfare and
there is a gentlemen l.iving, there to take care of unforveen nrob3ems
that may arise.
~A11 the other permits applied for in this aomminuty have been deniecl,
'please do not allow the desires of one person to disrupt and Dit one
.neighbor against another as this has been done far too often in
th e pa s t.
