Gff-street parlr.ing for vehicles nt,,t 1 he provided in accordance with standards as contained in Chapter 4.17. 4.12.070 Sand and gravel pits and rock quarries Restrictions, (1) A sand and gravel pit or rock quarry operation shall not be conducted on a parcAl of land of less than five (S) acres. (2) The property on which a sand and gravel pit or rock quarry operation shall be located not less than one thousand (1,000) feet from any residential zone. (J) All private tn.ick roads connecting sand and gravel pits or rock quarries with County or State roads shall be kept wetted while being used or shall be oiled or hard surfaced and maintained so as to prevent the creation of dust. (4) No production of sand and gravel shall be permitted nearer than fi.fty (SO) feet from any public road or any abutting property line without the consent of the owner of the abutting property. (S) No production of sand and qravel shall be permitted from an open pit which creates a slope steeper than one (1) foot horizontal to one (1) foot vertical. (G) Property to be used for production shall be enclosed alonq the exterior boundarie s thereof by a fence. Such fence shall be maintained in good condition at all times. (7) No excavation shall be carried on in dedicated streets. (8) iNhenever production on any property shall have been completed then all plants, buildings, structures (except fences) and equipment shall be entirely removed from such property and all stock piles shall be removed or backfilled into the pit within one year after such completion. Provided, however, that the provisions of this sub-paraqraph shall not apply to any plants, buildings, structures, equipment or stock piles whenever and so long as any rock and gravel shall be available from other properties for processfng by or through such plants, buildings, structures or equipment. (10) Additional conditfons may be attached to the permit by the Board of County Commissioners on recommendation of the Planning Commission for the purpose of -protecting public health and safety and to ensure a program of rehabilitation of the pft area.
