BARKER ROAD, SPOKANE VALLEY, WA 99016 Dear Brian: This building has been sold to Mr. Morsback for erection in Spokane Valley, WA utilizing the standard post frame building plans I have provided to Ziegler Lumber Company. The required loading for this building site is 40 PSF roof live (snow) load, 85 MPH wind speed, Exposure B and Seismic Design Category C according to the 2009 International Building Code. Allowable soil bearing pressure is 2,000 PSF. Sidewall posts are spaced 10'0" o. c. and the roof will have 4:12 pitch manufactured trusses I have reviewed the design of this building and checked it for the diaphragm design criteria used in the standard plan design. The front endwall has a 16' x 8' overhead door and a 3' pass door. There is sufficient steel sheeting on this endwall to transfer lateral loads on the sidewall and roof to the base of the building. However, it will be necessary to install #12 x 5/8" stitch screws @ 9" o. c. to all steel siding vertical side laps — this endwall only. The rear endwall has no openings. There is sufficient steel siding on this endwall to transfer lateral loads on the entire building sidewall and roof to the base of the building. The left sidewall has no openings. The right sidewall has no openings. Sidewall openings have no effect on the lateral load resistance for this building. Framing and connection details — Use the 40 PSF standard post frame building plans for framing and connections. Loft shelf details — Use the standard loft shelf details for framing.
