VS-143-79` REQ UEST FOR OVER-SIZED AND FREE STANDING SIGN
IN THE RESIDENTIAL OFFICE ZONE
ZONING ADJUSTOR DECISION: After public testimony and review, the decision
of the Zoning Adjustor is to approve the applicant's request for a Variance
A. F I N D I NGS : Pu rsuant to Section 4. 25. 030 of the Spokane County Zoni ng
Ordinance, the Zoning Adjustor has the responsibility of determining that the
granting of this application will not be detrimental to the surrounding
properties. In assuring compatibility, the Zoning Adjustor based his decision
on the testimony presented at the above noted Zoning Adjustor Hearing as well
as criteria set forth in the Spokane County Zoning Ordinance for review of this
application. The Zoning Adjustor hereby finds the following:
1. The Zoning Adjustor notes that other signs (at Argonne, at Mission) in
the immediate vicinity which are comparable to that requested by applicant.
2. Applicant's sign is designed in such a fashion as to blend with surround-
ing structures and not become a nuisance or an annoyance to the area.
3. Occupants of office structures could not individually provide as aestheti-
cally pleasing and effective signing as that proposed.
B. ORDER:
Applicant's request for one free standing sign is approved conditioned that:
1. The sign be built in comformance to the plan on file with this office.
2. That no neon lighting and only indirect lighting be used to illuminate the
sign.
3. Sign control of the interior buildings be in conformance to the Property
Brief submitted with file.
