RE: Approach for
S. 1505 Bettman Road
In my letter to you of August 21, 1986, I discussed the special requirements
for crossing an identified 100 year flood zone. As you know, there is an identi-
fied flood zone on the property at S. 1505 Bettman Road.
I learned today that you were told that an 18 inch culvert would be approved
for your driveway. Such a culvert probably would not be approved for a Floodplain
Development Permit. As explained in paragraph 3 of my August 21st letter (copy
attached), calculations and related documentation from an engineer are required
before we would issue you a Floodplain Development Permit for the crossing. Your
engineer should prepare the calculations based on 80 cubic feet per second as the
100 year flood flow.
We need to have you apply for the Floodplain Development Permit as soon as
possible. The fill material that remains in the drainageway must be removed, and
your application for the Floodplain Development Permit will expedite the satisfac-
tory resolution of this matter.
Thank you for your cooperation.
