JAMES L. MANSON, Director
You can prepare your own house plans for submittal with your appli-
cation, however, underground homes are considered non -conventional
construction and are not covered entirely by provisions in the "Uniform
Building Code", so your plans must be stamped by a Washington licensed
architect or engineer.
The minimum side yard setbacks are five feet per story and fifty-
five feet from the center line of the road in the front. Thirty-five
percent of your site may be covered with structures. Additional require-
ments are listed in "Requirements for a Residential Building Permit".
Contact the County Health District (W. 1101 College St.) for septic and
drainfield requirements.
Should you have any questions or need additional information, please
write to or call the undersigned individual at 1-509-456-3675, between
8:30 and 5:00 p.m., weekdays.
Sincerely,
Jim A. Haines
