For sometime now, we have been worrying along the idea of a neighborhood
center at Blake Road and SSH 3 H
This is not a matter of I ife and death with me in any event, but it does
look like a logical spot for a shopping center
f
The shape of the property is such that it does not lend itsd f well to residential,
and its location is certainly strategic for a neighborhood location
In other words, it mal<es sense, and as I have said before, 1 would far rather
have a successful neighborhood center that can afford to keep its planting
up and its buildings loolcing decent than have one hidden away someplace
that is starving to death and a bl ight on the neighborhood

The demand is not yet ready and certainly construction should not begin on
th is center for 3 or 4 years
I need not remind you that the zoning at Saltese Road and SSH 3 H is
developed to saturation It is quite apparent The corner of 32nd and
Pines which is zoned does not look as though it is going to do the job
when needed since the deveiopment is not going that way for some reason
The corner of 32nd and Sull ivan has no development at this time.
There are presently 590 homes surrounding the subject property within one-half
mile and with the anticipated completion of an additional 310 homes within
3 years, these 900 homes will represent approximately 3,500 people and will
support the neighborhood center we are talking about
