3.Election of Committee Officers: Being Tom was absent, we will hold elections next meeting.
4.Accident Prevention Plan:
Michelle discussed her attendance at an OSHA seminar. Key topics discussed:
December 15, 2013 deadline date to have a safety hazard plan completed and employees
o
trained on the program
New labels will be different as the program has gone from the U.S. only to a global program
o
Michelle and John will meet with Mike Jackson to discuss the potential purchase of software
o
which will help us with this program, and others, which includes training and auditing
modules
Ultimately, the desire is to have one APP, not a separate one for PW
o
5.Safety Concerns:
Chris Bainbridge walked through the kitchen whiled the countertop oven was cooking a meal. There
were napkins and a box of toothpicks on top of the oven. Michelle will post a sign to be sure there
are no items on the oven while in use.
Chris D. noted that one of the chefs at CP had cut his finger. He questioned liability issues. John
explained that we require our contractors to carry their own insurance to cover issues such as this.
Liability is not ours as long as the city was not deficient in maintaining the area and an accident was
directly related to our lack of maintenance. Even then, WCIA would investigate and determine
liability.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 4:26 p.m.
