State law requires that we have a performance and payment bond, would you be willing to get bonds for this project(and have them today or tomorrow)? At your option in RCW 39.08.010 on contracts under$35,000,you can request the City to retain 50%of the contract amount for a period of 30 days after final acceptance in lieu of the bonds. Our normal check process takes about 3 weeks,so we might only be holding the check another week. 1 My ultimate goal is to have the contract signed before you start the work, and I would prefer not to have the bonds hold us up. I will need an insurance certificate listing the City of Spokane Valley as additional insured and either a bond,or just you requesting that we hold 50%of the contract amount for 30 days per RCW 39.08.010. Are you ok with signing a contract? If so I will send one over. Please feel free to call me if you would like to talk more about this. Thank you again for working with us on such short notice!
