This post frame building was sold to Mr: Taggart for construction on his lot in Spokane Valley using the standard post
frame building plans I have prepared for Ziegler Lumber Company. The requirements for this building are 40 PSF
roof live load, 110 MPH wind speed, Exposure B, Seismic Design Category C, IBC 2012 and 2,000 PSF allowable
soil bearing pressure. The building has 10' post spacing and 4:12 pitch roof trusses.
I have reviewed the design of this building and checked it for the diaphragm design criteria used in the standard plan
design. The front endwall has a 16' x 12' overhead door and a 3' pass door. There is sufficient steel sheeting on this
endwall to transfer lateral loads on the sidewall and roof to the base of the building. However, it will be necessary to
install #12 x 5/8" stitch screws @ 9" o. c. to all steel siding vertical side laps —this endwall only.
The rear endwall has no openings. There is sufficient steel sheeting on this endwall to transfer lateral loads on the
sidewall and roof to the base of the building.
The left sidewall has no openings. The right sidewall has no openings. Sidewall openings have no effect on the
lateral load resistance for this building.
You may use the standard 40 PSF live load post frame building plans for all framing details and member sizes for
this building with the above exception.
