Kitchen floors may be installed as above. VENTILATION I I 1. Section 303.1 of the 2006 IRC states that the minimum openable area from a habitable room to the outdoors shall be 4% of the total floor area of the room. 2. A net ventilation area of not less than 1 sq. ft. for each 150 sq. ft, of underfloor space shAii be provided (R408.2). 11 3. All penetrations (plate junctions, around windows & doors, any openings through envelope) shall be air sealed. 4. Vapor diffusion retarder can be polyethylene, low perm paint, or face stapling with a perm rating of 1 or less, and shall be located between conditioned and unconditioned spaces. 5.
