The variance appiication was withdrawn by the applicant prior to the September 261 1990 hearing for Church reasons not related to the variance application 2 The proposed zone classification is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan. the site is situated at the edge of a neighborhood and fronts on a collector arterial facing an existing high school There is existing multi-family zoning in the immediate area, and although not expected to be developed as such, the UR-12 zoning would be consistent with what may eventuaily become a more intensely used area along the collector arteriai 3 This appiication is to reclassify the site in question from UR-3 5 to UR-12 for the specific purpose of operating a small private junior high/high school. This facility will operate in conjunction with the existing University High School directiy across the street as part of a"release-time" program which allows students to take religious training at this location during selected class periods at University High School The existing house on the site wiil undergo minor alternations to comply with building codes and to accommodate a single classroom, instructors office, and workroom Classroom capacity will be approximately 10 to 12 students, and finro or three classes per school day will be conducted One part-time instructor and one part time staff assistant wiil use the facility None of the activity normally associated wrth a large full service high school is intended to take place at the site school bus traffic, student automobile traffic, outside activity, or large assemblies The faality will retain it's residential character both in building and landscape design and be entirely compatible wrth adjacent single and multi-family developments _ , The proposed use will in fact be more compatible to the existing land use fabric than many of the approved uses in the UR-3 5 zone such as day care for 50 children, Park & Ride facilities, and transit centers . . . . . . , a - ✓ 5~ SPOKANE COUNTY PLANNING DEPARTMENT APPLICATIQN FOR ZQNE RF.CL:ASSIFICATION Date Application No Name of applicant- I-V5 Gff49G14 Street address of applicant N, / Oo PAR K.40k5 P44ZA City 5PoKA414E State WA Zip Code. 9q~Z0I Phone. 83$-2707 Name of property owner(s) FgAH,< WA (9 C-,71i4r-F Authorized agent representing owner (i f other than owner): G49Y B~RN~,eG~ ~GNI ?EGT' Existing zoning classification• Dace existing zone classificauon established. 4e'3 5C4°SS~~ Exisung use of property: IiACAN-7' Srn~F,c.E ~,~r-1/LY tk?%E Proposed zone classification e49 "/2 .
