1. Convene Meeting: Approve Meeting minutes of January 20, 2008
After Cary Driskell opened the meeting, there was consensus to approve the minutes as drafted.
2. Safety Concerns:
Chris mentioned that there have been some incidents involving safety, one in particular where a woman fell
on a sidewalk and that those claims have been sent to WCIA, along with claims for damage to automobiles
due to potholes. Chris also mentioned that she has been watching for training, but no relevant training has
been discovered yet.
Jennifer reported that she contacted the Red Cross and she distributed a copy of an authorization form, that
once we complete the form, the Red Cross will complete the authorization which will be deemed sufficient in
that the AED is inspected regularly by the Fire Department, and a log kept near the unit denoting those
inspections.
Bing reported that in light of several incidents in other areas, we should address some type of notification
system to alert employees in case of disaster or potential, threatened, or real danger, whether that be from
citizens or due to weather. He suggested having a formal Safety Committee recommendation forwarded to
management for their consideration. Such things as employees wearing their identification badges, and
having a visitor sign-in and identification system would be good beginnings at little or no cost, and then
include the need for some type of notification alert system. Chris mentioned she would also like to see a
policy regarding heaters and candles in the workplace, that in particular heaters should be allowed but a
warning that employees always need to check those heaters at night to make sure they are turned off and/or
unplugged. Chris will discuss these issues with Dave Mercier.
3. Other issues:
have another employee fill that space. It was mentioned that Lisa was appointed rather than elected, so we
-\[Note: Chris checked and Lisa was
elected rather than selected, so Chris will run another election sometime in March.\]
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 11:15 a.m.
