Convene Meeting : Chair Michelle Rasmussen convened the meeting at approximately 11:00 a.m. 2. Minutes of November 18, 2009 : There was consensus to approve the minutes as presented. 3. Final Review of Accident Prevention Plan Michelle went over the changes to the document since the last review, and it was noted that the first bullet under #5, that and someone should check the precinct building as well to make sure evacuation plans are posted there, and to include that sentence under #5 as well. It was also mentioned that the area where the plows are kept should be checked by Poe and that building should also be included in this section. a. Discussion Regarding MSDS There was discussion concerning the definition of hazardous chemicals and it was noted that the definition contained in the plan under #8 is that term as it is defined by L&I. MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) were also discussed and it was noted that Brian Moat is handling that at CenterPlace, and Michelle indicated she would check with Redwood Plaza concerning the MSDS forms. Training on how to complete and process the forms was also mentioned, and John stated this can be finalized, as well as the plans and training schedules after L&I has had a chance to review everything. 4. Safety Concerns a. Incident Review the recent incident involving damage to one of the city vehicles was mentioned, and it was noted that it was fortunate no one was injured and that there should be training prior to employees setting up an area to examine manholes and/or stormwater drains/basins. b. Recommendations for improvement contained in each city vehicle, and of the procedure for handling accidents, which is clearly marked on the envelope containing the forms which are kept in the vehicles. 5. Committee members discussion Committee members were asked if they desired to continue on this committee for 2010, and Chris indicated since she has been on the committee since its inception around 2004, that she desires not to continue for 2010. It was mentioned it would be ideal to have a representative from Public Works. Michelle said she will notify the employees of the opening for 2010; and once all employees are chosen or elected, the first order of business for 2010 will be to select a chair and a recorder for 2010.
