Convene Meeting: Chair Michelle Rasmussen convened the meeting at approximately 11:10 a.m.
1.
Minutes of March 24, 2010: There was a consensus to approve the minutes as presented.
2.
Accident Prevention Plan: Michelle handed out the final, signed copy of the Accident Prevention Plan.

This will now go to L&I for review/input/modification.
4.Safety Concerns:
a.Elevators at City Hall building will be shut down at 6 p.m. every night now starting next week
because of vandalism issues occurring.
b.Front reception desk is vulnerable and is a safety concern. The Permit Office front area is also a
concern, as it is more exposed to the public due to its new reconfiguration. Michelle will check
any keyboard.
This type of alert has/is being used in state offices.
5.Employee Training: We have started identifying possible required/desired employee trainings. WCIA
has a catalog of subjects. L&I also has course lists on their website. Subjects identified include:
Safety in high occupancy areas/reception areas/lobbies ~ we need a plan
First Aid/CPR
ADA Plan
Flagger
Emergency Evacuation
Safety Awareness (on the job whether indoors or outdoors)
Defensive Driving
Fire Extinguisher Operation
How to Deal With Difficult People
Violence in the Workplace
Conflict Communication Skills
21 Ways to Defuse Anger and Calm People Down
Sexual Harassment in the Workplace
Diversity in the Workplace
Disability Awareness
Ethical Standards (including gifting)
Next meeting will be in June. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 11:34 a.m.
