1.Convene Meeting: Chair Michelle Rasmussen convened the meeting at approximately 11:10 a.m.
2.Minutes of April 28, 2010: There was a consensus to approve the minutes as presented.
3.Accident Prevention Plan:
a.The APP will be available for all employees. It can be updated from time to time.
b. Argus is completing a draft and still needs
final review.
4.Safety Concerns:
a.Building inspector had car accident. Citizen pulled out from stop sign on side road
next to another car that was slowing down and turning.
b.Legal Intern fell by restroom and is on crutches.
c.Park Ambassador injured shoulder while hauling tent canopy and bins to park storage room for
the meals program. There is an L&I claim.
5.Employee Training:
a.Some trainings are either in the planning stage, already scheduled, or will be soon:
First Aid/CPR
Bloodborne Pathogens
Sexual Harassment in the Workplace Dept. heads will be completing the training first.
ADA Plan
Disability Awareness
b.The list of suggested trainings was reviewed and prioritized. The top six are:
How to Deal With Difficult People / Conflict Communication Skills / 21 Ways to Defuse Anger
and Calm People Down
Safety in high occupancy areas/reception areas/lobbies
Flagger
Emergency Evacuation - We should have fire emergency evacuation plans in place for City
Hall, CenterPlace, and the Waste Management building. Michelle will call Fire Dept. for
suggestions.
Defensive Driving Look into combining class with City of Spokane.
Sexual Harassment in the Workplace For all employees
Next meeting is August 25, 2010. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 12:05 p.m.
