A recent visual inspection by our field inspector indicates, we believe, that you are continuing to store these vehicles and parts on your property. As you are aware, storage in an Agricultural Suburban Zone is limited by Section 4.05.070 of the Spokane County Zoning Ordinance to, "storage of materials used in the connection with the operation of a household and activities associated with the normal operation of a household except that property may be used for the storage of materials used in the construction of the individual buildings on the property in the project." Due to the length of time this matter has been pending, we are of the opinion that a period of 14 days, beginning with your receipt of this let- ter, should be sufficient time for you to bring your property into compli- ance with the Spokane County Zoning Ordinance. If these matters are not taken care of within the previously mentioned 14 days, we will be unable to grant any further extensions of time and will have no choice but to forward this case to the Spokane County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for appropriate legal action. A violation of the Spokane County Zoning Ordinance is a criminal offense and does carry a penalty of, "...two hundred and fifty dollars ($250.00) or imprisoned in the County Jail for a term of not exceeding ninety (90) days, for each offense. The zoning is agricultural - suburban. 3. The owners are conducting a wrecking yard business thereon which is a violation of the zoning provisions. Motor vehicles are moved on and stored on the property or on a vacant lot across the street from these premises. The vehicles are then disassembled for parts on the described property. Towing equipment is used and parked at the premises or across the street. Anywhere from three to five vehicles are on the premises at any one time. The use of the property for this purpose with the unsightliness of the vehicles both towing and towed, detract from the residential nature of the area and reduce property values in the area. 4. Verbal protests have been made to the authorities including the County Commissioner and the use still continues. This written protest is for the purpose of notifying the elected official of a problem which it is their duty to resolve.
