FAIRVIEW, SPOKANE VALLEY, WA Dear Brian: This post frame building was sold to Mr. Burt for construction on his lot in Spokane Valley, WA using the standard post frame building plans I have prepared for Ziegler Lumber Company. This building is designed for 40 PSF roof live (snow) load, 110 MPH wind speed, Exposure B, Seismic Design Category C and 2,000 PSF allowable soil bearing pressure per the 2012 IBC. The building has 10'0" post spacing and 4:12 roof pitch roof trusses. The building is open four sides. The standard 40 PSF roof live load post frame building plans do not cover open buildings or non -constrained post footings. I have designed these structural elements for this building and detail them below: • Roof trusses — Use two manufactured roof trusses for each interior truss crossing and single gable end trusses. Trusses shall be designed and certified by the truss manufacturer. Support the trusses on 2" x 6" x 18" bolting blocks. Place one %" diameter machine bolt and four 16d nails through the truss top chords. Place one 34" diameter machine bolt and four 16d nails through the bolting blocks. • Roof purlins — Use 2" x 6" DF -L #2 purlins at 24" o. c. Purlins shall be hung from the trusses with standard joist hangers. • Sidewall posts — Use 6" x 8" Hem -fit #2 treated posts embedded in 24" diameter x 3'0" deep concrete footing. • Corner posts — Use 6" x 6" Hem -Fir #2 treated posts embedded in 20" diameter x 3'0" deep concrete footings. • Framing and connections — Use the standard 40 PSF post frame building plans for all framing and connection details. Please contact me if you have any additional questions about the design of this building. Sin erely, /aMUil Project #3L0— ao13 -1c ui RECEIVED Daniel Wambeke, P.E.
