06-100.00 JUB Engineers: ROW Survey for Flashing Beacons, Broadway, Seth Woodard & Trentwood < t CITY OF SPOKANE VALLEY CONTRACT AUTHORIZATION Submitting Dept: Public Works Date: August 11, 2006 Budget Account No: 101.042.000.542.10.41.02 CONTRACT TOPIC: Amendment to professional engineering services contract related to Traffic Engineering Services. CONTRACT BACKGROUND: As a task in the$40,000 general traffic engineering services contract, JUB Engineers began surveying work at Broadway, Seth Woodard, and Trentwood Elementary Schools. The purpose of the surveying work is to locate the right-of-way,boundaries for installation of the flashing beacons funded through the most recent Washington Traffic Safety Commission grant. Acceptance of this grant was approved by council last week. The beacons must be installed by the end of October. JUB Engineers has used almost all of the $40,000 in the original contract, and expect to run out at the end of next week. They estimate that an additional$10,000 will be sufficient to finish the surveying work for the flashing beacon units. This Addendum to the Professional Services Contract executed February 22, 2006 is to pay the Consultant $10,000.00 in addition the $40,000 as outlined in the Contract's original scope of work for a total of$50,000. The scope of services will be on a time and material basis. We are estimating an additional $2,000 for Broadway Elementary beacon layout; $4,000 for Seth Woodard and $4,000 for Trentwood Elementary. The existing contract plus amendment will now total$50,000.
