2008, 02-08 Fence LetterSpokane Valley• COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT PLANNING DIVISION February 8, 2008 Mr. Dan Pashniak Mr. Henry Strickler P.O. Box 14022 Spokane Valley, WA 99214 SUBJECT: Fence at 502 S Grady Ln. Dear Messrs. Pashniak and Strickler, The City of Spokane Valley does not require a permit for a fence that is six (6) feet or less. The maximum allowable height in all residential zones is eight (8) feet with a permit. These heights are only applicable to side and rear yards of residential areas; front yards have different height limits. Additionally, a fence may be constructed up to or on the property line unless there is a private road or driveway; then the fence may be constructed up to the edge of the road or driveway (usually the edge of paving). Please be aware that there are drainage and utility easements on the subject parcel that have to allow maintenance and access for City of Spokane Valley employees or representatives as well as employees of serving utility companies. The fence that you propose to build meets all of the requirements of the City of Spokane Valley's Uniform Development Code. Please contact me at (509) 688-0046 or tschmidt(a spokanevallev.org if you have any questions. Sincerely, rD TAVIS R.
