1. Convene Meeting: Tom convened the meeting at 8:00 a.m.
2. Minutes of September 9, 2014 &October 14, 2014: Consensus to approve the minutes as presented.
3. Accident Prevention Plan:
• Topic: Hazardous Materials
• John named department representative as follows:
• Public Works: Deven Nickerson & Mike Bergan
• Ops. &Admin., Comm. Dev., Legal & HR: Chris Thompson
• Parks & Rec: Brian Moat
• The next step is to have these representatives complete training on converting to the
SDS System. (Claire to schedule training once John verifies with L&I the label
transition—has there been a change in legislation?).
• John will contact L &Ito ask what the process is when we're unable to get the
correct label from vendors.
4. Safety Concerns:
• It was noted there were two employees injured during the move of the Finance and Comm./ Eco.
Development departments. Both employees went to the doctor, it doesn't appear they will turn into
workman compensation cases. To prevent these types of injuries from occurring in the future, the
City will now use temp labor services for office moves.
• Re: concern in working alone, Mike Bergan, Maintenance/ Construction Inspector, was instructed by
Supervisor, Shane Arlt, to not do anything strenuous while alone (e.g. heavy lifting, using a torch,
etc.).
5. Other Business:
• None noted.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:14 a.m.
