1. Convene Meeting: Tom convened the meeting at 8:04 a.m.
2. Minutes of March 12, 2015: Consensus to approve the minutes as presented.
3. GHS Labeling Hazardous Materials:
• Transition to GHS Labels:
• Ideas for how departments are to update labels were discussed
• John to schedule meeting with department representatives to review training
on conversion to GHS label:
o Public Works: Deven Nickerson & Mike Bergan
o Ops. &Admin., Comm. Dev., Legal & HR: Chris Thompson
o Parks & Rec: Brian Moat
• Paper vs. electronic manuals were mentioned. Idea of transition to electronic manual
with employer keeping one paper version as back-up noted.
• Concern noted that L&I website is still referencing MSDS labels.
• John will contact L &Ito ask if a product already contains a manufacturing
label, does it require a GHS label?
4. Safety Concerns:
• It was noted there were two employees injured at CenterPlace; one involved lifting a piece of the
stage and another was a fall caused from tripping on a rented chair skirt.
o Chris Dobbins to research chair cover rentals and proper use of.
5. Other Business:
• None noted.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:25 a.m.
The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 10, 2015 0 8AM in the Opportunity Conference Room.
