advertised property to conform with the existing commercial
development on the east side of Argvnne Road. The Gommissiar?
required an extensive landscape screen along the southern
baundary of the recommended property to be zoned to prQtect
possible residential develvpment of vacant properties tQ the
south.
2. The Commission was of the opinian that the zone change

ZE-82-70 A-0 Investments--is neither feasible or practical since a 282
unit a~Stment complex plus 420 car paxking space development will create
an undue burden on existing streets--Knox, Nora, and Vista.. Knox Avenue
is now being used as an escape_ route for people all over the valley to
avoid traffic lights of Trent and Argonne. Knox is only a two-lane street
and in no way can adequately handle existing traffic much less tra.ffic ~
genera.ted by a 282 unit apartment corrplex. The proposed complex has no
access to Argonne or the freewa.y except to use existing crowded narrow
streets. I might also mention, Knox the street of ma.in use now, is also
used as a drag strip speedwa.y. Children playirg, at times, barely escape
the speeding cars. When citizens living along Knox call the speeding
traffic condition to county road officia.ls and patrolman, a polite answer
of, "Sorry, we don't have enough men to gp around." Knox is also a school
bus route for all school children in this area.
Ijust can't see conjesting an area in the Valley more tha.n it already is.
It seems that other locations must exist for high density type dwelli,.ngs.

acjacent to residentia.l homes, does not make sense.
