Jeffrey Forry, of the Spokane County Building Depart-
ment, has contacted our office regarding an alleged
violation of Section 301 of the Uniform Building Code in
connection with the room addition located at the above
address.
Specifically, it is alleged that no building permit has
been obtained for the room addition.
Please be advised that a violation of the Uniform
Building Code constitutes a misdemeanor. As such, it is
punishable by up to ninety (90) days in jail, a fine or
up to $500.00, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
Please take immediate steps to obtain the required
permit. Your failure to do so within thirty (30) days
of the date of this letter may result in a complaint
being filed against you for a violation of the Uniform
Building Code.

RE: Permit Requirements - North 117 Hutchinson Road
Dear Mr. Kopp:
Our district inspector reports that an addition has been placed on
your property located at the above-mentioned address, Spokane county
parcel number 18544-1934, and, in checking our records, we are
unable to locate a valid permit. A building permit is required
under Section 301 of the Uniform Building Code as adopted by Spokane
county.
Should our records be in error, or should you have any information
that would otherwise be helpful in resolving this matter, please
contact us as soon as possible.
If a permit has not been obtained, Section 304(e) of the Uniform
Building Code requires that an investigation fee be charged
whenever any work for which a permit is required has commenced
without first obtaining the permit.
The intent of this letter is to waive the investigation fee,
provided you take appropriate action to obtain a permit within ten
(10) days of the date of this letter.
A recheck of our records will be conducted within ten (10) days of
the date of this letter, Your attention to the above will negate
the need for further action.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me between
the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., weekdays.

Second Notice
Dear Mr. Kopp:
A recheck of our records indicates that the appropriate permit has
yet to be obtained for the addition to a residence on your property
located at the above referenced address, as specified in Section 301
of the Uniform Building Code.
Because the ten (10) day time frame established in our letter to you
dated April 4, 1991 has lapsed and no apparent effort was made to
contact this office, an investigation -fee will be assessed on your
permit as per Section 304(e) of the Uniform Building Code.
Therefore, we must require that unless arrangements are made to
obtain the permit within ten (10) days from the date of this letter,
this matter will be forwarded to the Spokane County Prosecuting
Attorney's Office for appropriate legal action without further
notice from this office.
Your cooperation in this matter will be appreciated.
