At your request, I have reviewed the support for the concrete deck on the Main -
Floor Level. The concrete deck is part of an 8' extension onto the existing
residence.
The metal deck shall be 22 GA Type 'W3' composite galvanized deck with a 2' /2'
topping slab for a total thickness of 5''A". The deck will be supported on one end
by the new basement wall. On the other end adjacent to the existing basement
wall, metal studs shall support the deck. The metal studs shall be 350S162-43
(33 ksi min) @ 16" oc. Install bridging lines at 3'-4" oc and gypsum board to the
exposed surface.
Attached are my calculations as may be required for submittal to the building
department. Please call if you have any questions or need clarification
concerning support of the concrete deck.
