On September 29, 1973, We received a notice of the zone change
hearing scheduled for Friday, October 12, 1973 on the folloWing
property; Section 15, ToWnship 25 N., Range 44, E. W. M. The
South 71.62 feet of Lots 5 and 6, all of Lot 10, Block 2 of
Mission VieW Addition, the applicant being John H. Smith, Jr.
Your letter has left off the fact the~.Mr. Smith is DOCTOR John
H. Smith, Jr.
8ecause We Will be out of town on the date of the ttearing, I am
Writing this letter.
Our home, the third house North of the property under discussion,
is on the corner of Pines and MaxWell, North 1420 Pines Road.
There are just four homes betWean Sinto and Maxwell bordering on
Pines Road:- Knudson, Lot 10; Hope, Lot 9; Cook, Lot S; and
Goffinet, Lot 7 With an approximate measurement of 71.4+ feet on
Pines Road for each lot Which gives a measurement of approximately
284.16+ foot frontage along Pines Road betWeen Sinto and-MaxWell.
It Was our understanding in talking to the Planning Commission .
approximately four years ano, that this area Would be held as
residential until the four lots rrould ideally go as one piece in
their long range plan. Strip zoning didn't seem to be their choice
for these 284.16+ feet of Mission VieW Addition frontino on Pines
Road. J
Sinto and MaxWell are un--oiled, dusty, gravelled roads with
employees from the Ualley General Hospital and an occasional am-
bulance using MaxWell, plus the residents living on the street,
plus the addition of traffic from Doctor Smith's office is just
going to be too much.
Is it logical to strip zone such a small area? We btlieve such
a decision Will be detrimental to the future sa;e of the property
betWeen Sinto and Maxwell and Work a hardbHip on the remaining
property oWners with the increased traffic, dust, and noise.
