to commercial for the fo1lowing reasons.
We, who live on the North Side of Sprague Avenue within
a block, have continuously been trying- to keep the area as it
was originally 1 aic! , out, sa 'nomeownerc. ` area o
Sprague Avenue is and t-tas our route to approach the
city of Spokane, not a atrip business and comm ercial section,
aur investments in our homes and pride in them is continuous-
1y being jeopardized by the promot,er or developer who is
really more interested in the quick money than the develop-
ment of an orderly community0 Such type of planning isfnot
planning at all but rather quick exploitation.
When both sides of Spragu e are filled do you have
plans for new routes to the city2 lirhen commercial busi -
neases and their debril litters the neighborhood do you have
plans for them to clean up the surrounding area? When our
property has decreaa-ed in value because of the congestion of
close businesses do you have plans to compensate the surround-
ing property owners of the area?
Do you really think a strip city makes the surrounding
community a better place in which to live? Do you really
think the two or three people benefitting from this should •
have preference to the many home owners who have pride in
their commutity and live ln it2
