MANSON, DIRECTOR Our office has been informed that an unsatisfactory condition with regards to your furnace has been reported by Washington Water Power Company. It should be noted that Section 1.3.9 of the Gas Code, regarding unsafe conditions, states, "When unsafe conditions are identified in the equipment, gas piping, venting and combustion air requirements (etc.), the unsafe condition shall be repaired or turned off until repairs can be made. The home owner or business agent shall be notified of the unsafe condition and authorize the repairs. If the unsafe condition is not repaired, it shall be left in an inoperable condition, the authority having jurisdiction or the servicing gas supplier shall be notified." This notice is to inform you that should you install a new furnace, a permit will be required to be obtained.
