PETTTION RESZSTING ZONE CHANGE
Comes now the undersigned residents of the immediate area surround-
I
ing requested zone change ZE-22-60., and petitions the 5pokane County Planning
Commissi.on to deny the requested zone change. Your petitioners t'ee1 this
zone change should be denied for the following reasons:
1. The requested zone change is in the middle of an agricultural
.
suburban area and would allow expansion into areas used for residential
purposes.
2. The purpose of the requested zone cha.nge is to allow the
construction of a new retail grocery building which is to face on Boone
Avenue, which avenue is a residential street.
3. The proposed grocery building would be erected immediately
adjacent to the homes of some of the petitianers, and irnmediately across the
street fram the homes of others. The erection of said building would produce
additional noise, dust and other nuisances in an area which is a residential
area.
4. The proposed building provides for a drivewa.y for trucks im-
mediately adjacent to homes of the petitioners herein, and as such would
constitute a nuisance.
5. There is room for expansion along Pines Road which 'rias been
classified previously as Local Business to allow for such expansion. 6. In June of 1959, Your petitioners consented to a zone change
for expansion to the north along the Pines Road, and said zone change was
allowed subject to certain conditions. These conditions such as the erection
of a fence and surfacing of the parking area have not been complied with.
7. There are several large retail grocery buildings on Sprague
Avenue, approximately four (4) blocks to the of the area in a.uestion
and said markets provide adequate facilities for the residents in question.
