This is true of zoning ordinances, which are laws intended to protect and govern the many different,uses of land in Spokane County. .It is my responsibility, as the Zoning Investigator, when the situation arises, to help resolve conflicts involving the Spokane County Zoning Ordinance. A visual inspection has been conducted at your property, described on the attached sheet, by our field inspector which indicates, we believe, that your property is in violation of these ordinances. The attached data sheet lists detailed information concerning this zoning violation. No residential fence shall exceed a height of six (6) feet without first obtaining a variance from the Board of Adjustment. Corner lots in all zones shall not be permitted to have any fencing or other sight -obstruction which constitutes a hazard to the traveling public within the area designated as the "clear -view triangle." This area can be determined be measuring eighty (80) feet from the center of two intersecting streets along the center lines of each street, then connecting the two points with a straight line forming the hypotenuse of the clear -view triangle. Trees within the clear -view triangle shall have their brances removed at the trunk from ground level to a minimum of seven (7) feet above ground level. Shrubs within the clear -view triangle shall be maintained no higher than three (3) feet above grade elevation of the center line of the adjacent street.
