Our protest is based upon the foilowing considerativns: l. Our properties, by virtue of their locations, a.re basic- al].y agricultural in character. Said properties are appruxirnately faur miles from the nearest incorporated town and have a long and continuvus use as agricultural prQperties. 2. The prvposed area for zone change is historically resi- dential-agricultural. It was platted as Smiley's Subdivisivn on Nlareh 30, 1942, and this platting was dQne with the purpvse and intent that residences be cvnstructed there. Thereafter, on Apri1 29~ 1942, it was zoned agricultural. This sequenc+e of events elearly shaws that the histarical desire and intent of the resi- dents of the area was that this area be agricultural. 3. A11 present proger°ty Qwners have purchased portions of the property in questipn with full knowledge of its zone classifica- tion and tQ many of them, this zone dlassi.fication of agricultural was very significant and still is. It wauld seem that to re-zone this prvperty nnw in response ta the request of a few of the property owners (5 aut of the 12 lots involved) would be inequitable and unfair to a ma jarity of the praperty awners and would be respvnsive to a minarity graup. 4. a e of the applicants for the zone change, Mr. William Williams, Ras na reca►rd ownership of any prapexty in the area in question and one ather appli+cant, Mrs. Katherine Bjerke, did not _ h,ave the ca►ncurrenee of her husband in the propvsed change. 5.
