'lanned to be present at the hearing but a.m unable to get away
~'rom my work as Clerk in the Federal Court. (I wa,s just out
~wo days because of my son's operation.)
`Lhis section of Sprague under consideration has become an
increasingly dangerous traffic hazard. I no longer dare send
q children to the store. The homes and respectable office
buildings are being engulfed in a va.riety of undesirable com-
mercial establishments. Surely we don't need any more drive-ins,
used car lots, etc.
I particularly want to object to Mr. Reed's approach, wha.ch I feel_ I
-:.as purposely deceitftiil.. Most of Yqy neighbors, who were talked
into signing his petition, feel the same wa,y. When I asked Ms.
Reed iTh.at the property was to be used for he said, "Frankly, I don' t

, I haven't any idea." Then he said it -,,rould be "an office

building or something like that", tiqhen I told him in that case it
-.Tould not be necessary to get a zone change, he said, "Well, if the
Commi.ssioners don't think rqy project is necessary they won't change
the zoning." And I said, "If you dontt know what it is going to be,
how can they tell if it is necessary." He then left, abruptly, an::
ratner ruciely.
i,ia.n;, of us in that vicinity are buying homes, raising children (I
nave four) and i feel we deserve your protection.
