The following is the title and summary of Ordinance No. 15-026 passed by the Spokane Valley City Council
on the 15`h day of December 2015:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SPOKANE VALLEY, SPOKANE COUNTY, WASHINGTON
AMENDING SPOKANE VALLEY MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 18.20.030 RELATING TO
HEARING EXAMINER POWERS AND DUTIES,AND OTHER MATTERS RELATING THERETO.
Section 1 explains that the purpose of this Ordinance is to amend Title 18 Spokane Valley Municipal Code
(SVMC)by removing shoreline conditional use permits and variances under the Shoreline Master Program
from matters heard by the Hearing Examiner, and adding shoreline letter of exemption appeals to matters
heard by the Hearing Examiner. Section 2 sets out and adopts certain findings and conclusions relative to
the revised SMP. Section 3 amends SVMC 18.20.030 relative to Hearing Examiner powers and duties.
Section 4 notes that all other provisions of Title 18 SVMC not specifically referenced shall remain in full
force and effect. Section 5 speaks to severability, and Section 6 explains that the ordinance shall be in full
force and effective five days after publication of the Ordinance or a summary in the official newspaper of
the City of Spokane Valley.
