FINDINGS AND ORDER REGARDING ZONING MAP PROPOSAL, ZE-27-78, AGRICULTURAL
SUBURBAN TO RESIDENTIAL OFFICE A& P ENTERPRISES.
WHEREAS, The Spokane County Planning Commission did, after public
hearfng on June 16, 1978, forward to the Board of County Commissioners a recommen-
dation that the Zoning Map be changed from the existing Agricultural Suburban
classification to fihe Residential Office classiffcation on property described as
f ollows
Lot 8, Block 1, Jones-Schaffer Subdivision of part of
Tract 21, Opportunity in Section 17 , Township 25 N.,
Range 44, E. W. M., Spokane County, Wa shington.
and,
WHEREAS, The Board having conducted its own public hearing on
August 17, 1978, at the request of Dorothy M. Corlander, 1Vorth 1030 Stout Road,
Spokane, WA 99206, et al, to present evidence and testimony in favor and
opposition to the application, and
WHEREAS, At said hearing opportunity was afforded those favoring and
those opposing the above-described Zoning Map proposal, and the Board of County
Commissioners of Spokane County having fully considered the testimony given, the
recoreis, and minutes of the Planning Commission and all other evidence presented
and having personally acquainted themselves with the site and vicinity in question,
does hereby find
1) That we concur with the Planning Commission's recommendations
as contained in their minutes of June 16, 1978, and that we find
the reasons expressed by the Planning Commfssion to be
sufficient and controlling.
2) That the Board of County Commissioners upholds the recommen-
dations of the Spokane County Planning Commission for
approval, subject to the findings and conditions set forth in
the Planning Commission minutes of june 16, 1978.
3) That the Board of County Commissioners further directed the
Planning staff to consult with the property owner to the east of
the subiect site and determine whether or not said property
owner desires to have the garage on the site removed. The
Board expressed concern as to whether adequate parking space
was available to the rear of the site; however, the determination
to remove the existing garage to provide additional parking space

This being the time set by the Board of County Commissioners of Spokane
County, Washington, to render its decision concerning the request of
A& P Enterprises, 928 Old National Bank Building, Spokane, WA 99201
for the above captioned zone reclassification, and
The Board having received the recommendation of the Spokane County
Planning Commission to approve the requested zone change, subject to
findings and conditions as contained in the Comm7ssion's minutes dated
June 16, 1978, and
The Board having conducted its own public hearing on August 17, 1978
at the request of Dorothy M Corlander, 1030 North Stout Road, Spokane,
WA 99206, etal, and after visiting the site and reviewing the testimony,
and
The Board being fully advised in the premises did determine, based upon
the testimony submitted at the public hearing and other evidence available
to the Board to uphold the recommendation of the Spokane County Planning
Commission to approve the zone change, subject to findings and conditions
as contained in the Planning Commission minutes of August 17, 1978
The Board directed the Planning Staff to consult with the property owner
to the east of the subject site and determine whether or not said property
owner desires to have the garage on the site removed The Board expressed
concern as to whether adequate parking space was available to the rear of
the site, however, the determination to remove the existing garage to provide
additional parking space is to be made by the adjacent property owner to
the east
The Board also concurred in the Planning Staff's recommendation that no
significant adverse impacts will result and a Declaration of Non-Significance
be issued
The Board instructed the Planning Staff to prepare Findings and Order,
for execution by the Board at a subsequent meeting, setting forth more
definitively the Board's action in this matter
