C) N d JOHN FULGINITI, PE STRUCTURAL ENGINEER 4505 W NAVAHO • SPOKANE, WA , 99208 • (509) 467-7026 January 2, 1996 Mr. Gordon Berkhaug N 1403 Howard Spokane, WA 99201 REF. Elaine Hyrenko residence at 11003 Nixon Dear Mr. Berkhaug: On Friday, December 29, I met with you at the Hyrenko residence to inspect the roof framing over the kitchen and utility room. Some years before, a kitchen fire burned the ceiling joists and roof framing in that area. On inspection of the attic space from the access opening in the utility room, it is apparent that their is charring of a number of roof rafters in the area above the kitchen. It is my professional opinion that the roof should be rebuilt in the subject area by a competent licensed and bonded contractor. The roof structure should be rebuilt to current design standards and inspected and approved by the local building official. If I can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to call. Respectfully, J F-4 John Fulginiti
