As part of the final design effort, it became apparent that the thickness and layers of the existing asphalt overlays on the bridge deck need to be determined to size /detail the new expansion joint repair. As discussed with you today, Coffman Engineers, Inc. will hire Budinger and Associates to complete a total of two cores — one in each northbound lane — center of each lane. This will provide necessary design depth information required to detail the expansion joint repairs as identified in Phase 1 work. SCHEDULE UPDATE Based upon our discussion today, the Phase 2 draft construction drawing(s), technical specifications and pre -bid cost estimate will be completed by mid February 2009 for the City of Spokane Valley's review.
