Re: Amendment to Professional Services Contract executed November 14, 2008
Dear Ms. Garnett:
The City of Spokane Valley would like to execute an amendment with ICMA Consulting
Services to the agreement executed by the parties on November 14, 2008 concerning an
assessment of law enforcement services for Spokane Valley, WA. The City proposes amending
the Contract by requesting that both parties sign this letter.
This Amendment add $45,000 in project fees to the total contract. Furthermore, an amount
not to exceed $7,500 will be available for travel expenses incurred in fulfilling the additional
services specified herein. The primary objective of this Amendment is to prepare and present to
the City an unbiased review of the positive and negative ramifications of establishing an
independent police department. IMCA Consulting Services hereby agrees to conduct all of the
activities related to the primary objective that were included as part of the scope of services
detailed in its proposal dated May 27, 2008, including financial and operational impacts.
Upon execution, this letter will serve to amend the Agreement for Professional Services as
follows:
3. Compensation The original compensation amount was $69,000 plus availability
of $10,500 for travel expenses. By this Amendment the City now agrees to pay the
Consultant the amended amount of $114,000 in project fees and make available up to
$18,000 for travel expenses as full compensation for everything furnished and done under
this Agreement in accordance with provisions outlined in the original Scope of Work and
as detailed in the this proposed Amendment. _
