H1e wish to point out that the difference bescween this unit and the one which you now have is rnostly in the outlet cannectian. The out- : let is slanted on the Model 9VGR-12 so that duct work may connected to it either hor. izontal,ly or ver_ tically.- The flanges shavJn on the drawing are for welded connections. , After tialking With you on the phone, we dPCidea it best not to include , 'the head recovery devi.ces, which we call Spir.ocones. For-this reason, the pricQ is.sltghtly less •t'rian vihat LJC: first gav,a you. 'I'he eiimina- tion of these Spirocones in no way effects the e¢ficiency of the unit. Since you..may, encounter` some candEnsarion i.n the gases at times; we thought it best, nv~1to include these Spiroconeas because of the possibility of dust accumulating on them. BOX 387, ALLIANCE, OHIO 44601 I LOW PRESSU ~ ; ~ - _ , 1.r FEATU R E LOW- FLAM E~~ ~ The Genco Burner provides a reliable and 4D --0 trouble-free heat source for drying the aggre- gates used in asphalt bituminous mix. The Burners produce a long, efficient flame that ~ thoroughly heats the aggregate curtain as it falls from the dryer "flights", resulting in m~Yi- = rnum dryer output. ' ik- . The Genco Burner is the product of research, engineering and field experience aimed at in- :~p creasing the efficiency of the drying operation. A special nozzle develops a turbulent action which breaks the fuel oil into minute particles. The proper amount of fuel partictes is then combined with air from the blower to Produce t - -optimum combustion. ~ Genco Low-Flame pre-heats the dryer, making instant start-ups possible without danger of -AM_ thermal shock, and damage to either combus- ~ ~i tion chamber refractories or dryer. Burners are available in 10 sizes, adaptable to' - the production ratings of rotary dryers from 30 to 450 tons per hour. There is a model to burn any grade fuel oil, another for natural gas and a combination model which can be switched from one fuel to the other without burner modi- fication. All models feature a Single Lever Ad- justment for proper regulation of fuel/air ratio. Blowers are of welded steel construction with dynamically balanced impellers. A brief 1,000-1bs. to 10,000-1bs. per batch) MADSEN description and illustrations of some of these offers the industry a complete line of asphalt products are shown here. For a complete list of plant accessories, parts and equipment. These MADSEN products for the asphalt paving indus- products, used in conjunction with MADSEN trv, see the back cover of this catalog. MADSEN PORTABLE DUST • O ~ Designed for optimum performance and the highest degrce of operating economy, BLH MADSEN porcable dust col- lectors eliminate dust from entrained air at 90% of purity. To accomplish this high degree of dust removal, BLH MADSEN has designed their cyclone dust collectors to ' ' provide a laminar air flow pattern. This air flow pattern ~develops top collecting efficiency and at the same time } I eliminates distortion of the exhauat gasea, back pressure and turbulence which is the cause of accelerated wear on duct work, high maintenance cost and lost operating eEfec- tiveness. ~ With the laminar air flow pattern, horsepower require- ments are kept to a minimum and yet the plant furnishes more than ample power for constant, uninterrupted air for proper burner draft and dust removal. BLH MAD- SEN's round design also gready reduces friction and wear --l~=j- J.• on the inside walls of the cyclones. . BLH MADSEN cyclone dust collectors are readily adapt- able for use with a wet washer to meet the most rigid air pollution codes. Dry dust from the cyclones feeds through a tipping valve onto a acrew conveyor for delivery to the boot of the hot elevator and is included in the mix as a densi fyer. Air entrain e d dust an d gas is dcawn from the plant tower to the collector through a system of scavenger piping. This view shows the simplicity of BLH MADSEN's de- sign. All components including provision for attaching the wet washer is mounted on epecially designed carrier frame. The addition of fifth-wheel, axle and tire mounted wheels make this unit completely portable; it is designed to come ~ within legal road restrictions of length, width and height. MADSEN • CYCLONE-TYPE DUST • MADSEN Cyclone Dust Collectors are built in diameters ~ from 8' to 12'. The unit shown at the left handles the dust collecting requirements on a MADSEN Model 481 6000-1b. Plant. It is 12' in diameter. The exhausted gases and dust I ace pulled from the stack end of the dryer through large- diameter piping to the cyclone, and from the cyclone to the exhauster where the very fine uncollected dusta may be discharged to a MADSEN Triple Wet Tube Dust Washer. The large diameter of MADSEN Cyclones reduces air velocity to such an extent that a high percentage of the fines are collected and discharged from the cYclones to an • ' ,F„ inlet at the bottom of the hot stone elevator. A by-pass `4~~• outlet is provided at the bottom of the cyclone transfer ~ screw so that the collected dusts, in excess of requirements, may be removed if desired. 15 1 r MADSEN • OW DRYERS .11ADSEN Counte:r-N'luw llil-ers ure Vuilt in aizes p` { It ~ f ~ 1 uf 3.. , .1$ , 60 , , 8-~ , ~6 , and 1U~~ in diameter _ aud lruiii 1(}' tu 45' in lengtli.
