Re: Backflow Device Test
The backflow device on your sprinkler system has not been tested for the 2009 season.
This lack of action on your part is jeopardizing your water service. Please call a tester from the
list enclosed to have this device tested immediately. You have not responded to the letter placed
at your service address on July 31, 2009, stating your water would be shut off on August 13
unless you comply with this requirement of the test by a certified tester.
NOTICE OF DISCONTINUANCE OF WATER SERVICE
Per WAC 246-290-490: Cross Connection Control, backflow prevention assemblies
are to be tested annually. NO EXCEPTIONS!
State and local regulations require that devices be tested. This is for your protection,
protection of your neighbors and the Irvin Water District.
As of today, August 7, 2009 this office has not received your test results. If this matter is
not taken care of by Thursday August 13, 2009, your water will be shut off, and remain off
until this matter is taken care of. A $25.00 shut-off/turn on fee will be billed to your account.
If you decide not to test your device or respond to this notice, Irvin Water District will
protect its system with a backflow device at the meter and your account will be charged for
materials and labor for this installation.
Please contact the District office at 924-9320 if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Irvin Water District Manager
