Bedroom Remodel at 2707 S. Raymond Rd. Spokane Valley, WA 99206
The proposed bedroom remodel will combine two bedrooms into one larger
room. This will entail removing 8ft. of an existing bearing 2x4 wood stud
wall and installing a 5-1/8" x 9" glue lam beam. I am planning to install this
beam above the ceiling. ••• = - • • - - "• ••: •••- - - • • • ' - •' - •e
_ . • - ; ; '- - :: _-. Once the beam is set I will use 294,-joist
hangers to secure the ceiling joists to the beam. The existing ceiling joists
are 2x6's 16inches on center. The roof joists are 2x6's 2ft on center. There
are 2x4 angle braces from the bearing wall to the 2x4 support running the
full length of the house under the roof joists. These angle braces are 4ft on
center. The project area would affect two sets of these braces. I will
reconnect these angle braces to the beam using 2x6 joist hangers.
This project also entails enlarging one the bedroom closets to facilitate a
washer and dryer area.
