This will confirm that the board of directors of the district has authorized the installation of a curb around the site at this time in conjunction as part of the construction of the pumphouse and the landscaping of the site. Secondly, the board of directors contemplates that upon the completion of the construction and placing of the new well into service that it will make appropriate contract for maintenance of the grounds at said wellsite in the proper manner. It is my understanding from Mr. Simpson that these are the points concerning which you requested confirmation from the district in your conversation on February 14, 1974. Wigen, the president of !1ode1 Irrigation District, was not certain whether a couple of points were brought up in 'londay's hearing on the district's application and he asked me to write you vrith this additional information. This is not an introduction into a residential area of a new facility. The district has an existing well and pumphouse two blocks away, namely at the northwest corner of 26th and Cowdish. The Health Department directed that this well be abandoned because there has been some problems with contamination. 7he Health Department. as well as the distrlct, made a study of the area and its recommended site to the district for replacement of the well in this area is at the one applied for, namely, at the corner of 26th and Pierce. The district requires a well at this approximate location in order to properly provide for the operation of its water di5tribution system. The district already has a well in the southerly part of the district and two wells in the northerly part of the district and requires one at this midtvay point. It is my understanding that iir.
