RENZ, SPOKANE, VALLEY, WA 99037 Dear Brian: This building has been sold to Mr. Kline for erection in Spokane Valley utilizing the standard post frame building plans and lean-to addition plans I have provided for Ziegler Lumber Company. The required loading for this building site is 40 PSF roof live (snow) Toad, 85 MPH wind speed, Exposure B and Seismic Design Category C according to the 2009 International Building Code. Allowable soil bearing pressure is 2,000 PSF. Sidewall posts are spaced @ 12' centers and the roof will have 4:12 pitch manufactured trusses. I have reviewed the design of this building and checked it for the diaphragm design criteria used in the standard plan design. The front endwall has a 20' x 10' overhead door. The lean-to has a 10' x 8" overhead door. There is sufficient steel sheeting on these endwalls to transfer lateral loads on the sidewall and roof to the base of the building. However, it will be necessary to install #12 x 5/8" stitch screws 9" o. c. to all steel siding vertical side laps — this endwall only. The rear endwall has a 3'0" pass door. The rear endwall of the lean-to has a 4' x 3' window. There is sufficient steel siding on these endwalls to transfer lateral loads on the entire building sidewall and roof to the base of the building. The left sidewall has no openings. The right sidewall has no openings. Sidewall openings have no effect on the lateral load resistance for this building. You may use the standard 40 PSF live Toad post frame building plans and lean-to addition plans for all framing details and member sizes for this building. Common posts between the lean-to and the main building need to have 32" diameter x 3'0" deep concrete footings. Please feel free to contact me if you have any additional questions about the design of this building. Daniel Wambeke, P.E.
