1. Outline of Work
Theae specifications, together with the drawings, cover the work of
constructing e pumphouse Yor The Weshington Vlater Power Company at
32nd and Pines in the Spokane Valley.
II. Contrsctor's Function
The Contractor shall furnish and provide all materiel, lebor, super-
vision, tools, plant, apparatus, conveyances, equipment and incidental
expenses for accomplishing the work covered by this contract. Contractor
shall obtain snd pay for all necessary permits to complete the job.
III. Furnished by Owner
A. Electric Power
B. ti1'ater at nearest fire hydrant
IV. Drawings
The work shell be carried out in strict accordence with these Specifi-
cations and Drewings E-26199, E-26202, E-26201, and E-26156.
V. Generel
It is the intent of these SpeciPicationa to provide for the complete
construction of the building except for the electric wiring, lighting
and piping. Contractar shall install discharge pipe end conduits
through sleb. Pipe and conduits to be furnished by owner.
VI. Gttarantee
Contractor gusrantEes ell work under this contract free of defective
materisls and workmanship. The Contractor agrees to make good any
defects discovered within a period of one (1) year from the date of
final acceptance without cost to owner.
VII. Forms
Forrns shall be aubstantially built, plumb and true to dimensions of
concrete shown, properly braced end tied to maintain position snd shape
until their removal. Forms for all cancrete surfeces shall be uniform
and srnooth.
Forms shall be mortar-tight and treated with en approved form oil bePore
erectinn to prevent adhesion of concrete.

VIII. Concrete 1York
All concrete shall attain a cornpressive strength of 3,000 lbs. per
squsre inch at 28 days. Concrete shall be deposited es nearly as
practicabl.e in its Yinel position to svoid rehandling or excessive
flowirg in forms.
Placing and vibrating methods shall be such as will insure homogeneous
concrete throughout the mass, and againet the Yace Yorms.
The wearing surface oP the floor shall receive a steel trowel finish.
IX. Masonry Walls
Al1 walls shall be eight (8) inch nominal thick concrete blocks.
Nortar shall consist of one (1) part 1'ortland Cement, one (1) part lirne
and six (6) parts sand bq bulk measurement, with water proportions as
required for best warkability.
Anchor bolts 3/8" x 8" shall be placed in top of wall to secuxe 2" x 8"
plate. Bolts shall be placed on epproximate four (4) foot centers.

Roof sheathing shall be 5/8" Exterior Plywood of sultable grede.
SofYitt end rooY skirt shall be 5/8" Exterior Plywood of suiteble grede.
Chtorinetnr rnum ceilins shall be finished with 5/8" Exterior Plywood.
XII. Insulation-
Lntire ceiling erc:a ahall be covered wiGh foil backed 3" thick fibre-

XIII. Vents
Vents shall be installed as shown on Drewing E-26202. Vent doors shall
heve a suitable letching device enabling each door to open independently
of the other.

Roof shall be a 4 ply built up type as shown on Drawing E-26202.
Roof shall be covered with crushed rock, grey or brown in color.
XV, noors
Uoors shall be Stsndardline as manufactured by Trussbilt, Division of
Siems Dros., Inc., or equal. Doors shall be 3'-0" x 6'-8' 1 hollow metal
type IS.
lloc>rs shall be fitted with padlock hasp on outside.
XVI. 1's inting
All exterior wood trim, plywood vent doors and entrance doors shall
receive one (1) coat of Sherwin-tiYilliarns A-100 Undercoater end two (2)
coats of A-100 Latex Exterior paint. Color to be Fairfax Brown.
All exterior block surfaces shall receive two (2) coats of Sherwin-
Williams Pleatherclad Bxterior I,.atex. Color to be Hawaiian ivory -
L.E 7055.
Att paint shall be applied accnrding to manufaeturer's speciflcations.

Dear Mr. Huggins:
Our Company has found it necessary to construct new housing €or its
well on Pines Road just North of 32nd Avenue in the Spokane Valley. We
have been told that, although this well and its housing has been operating
since 1962, a special conditional permit will be needed to accommodate the
new well housing.
Therefore, at this time we are enclosing our application for the
special conditional permit. We are also enclos3.ng other pertinent data
concerning the well operation. Please refer to the enclosed Dwg. D-26199
showing the type of building and other details, such as elevation, etc.
We are also enelosing our Sight Draft No. 9652 in the amount of $10.00 to
cover the necessary fee.
Your efforts to expedite this application will be much appreciated,
as we did not realize that this particular building, because of circumstances,
would require a conditional use permit.
