Dear Mr. Manz:
This office has received reports regarding commercial dirt hauling and multiple
residences on your property located at South 800 Steen, Spokane County Parcel
Number 24541-9114. Recent visual inspections indicate that these reports are
accurate.
This property is zoned Agricultural. Section 4.04.040 of the Spokane County Zoning
Ordinance allows for only one single family dwelling per parcel. You have what
appears to be four residences.
Removal of dirt - Surface mining is not a permitted use in the Agricultural Zone.
Permits are required by this department, the Department of Natural Resources and
also the Spokane County Building and Safety Department.
It is the intent of this letter to advise you of an apparent zoning violation and to
request compliance. Accordingly, we are of the opinion that, since you have now
been informed of the requirements of the Spokane County Zoning Ordinance, a
period of twenty-one (21) days, beginning with the date of this letter, should be
sufficient time in which to bring your property into compliance.
