The plat propvses 37 residential lvts totalirag aFPrvximately 17 acres. The developrnent is divided intv thirteen (13) basins; A through M. See Drainage Map for Midilome East 2nd Addition. Each taasin is compased of two subareas; 1}grass lawins and swales, and 2} impervious resvfs, daiVeways, and asphaifi paVed streets. Stvrmwater flaws vverland acrass roafs, grass lawns, and dnivevvays and into grass swales behind the street cua-bs. Storrnwater frarn asphalt streets flows along the curb gutEers and inta the grass swales t'hrraugh driveway curb cuts and curb opera%ngs located at low points in the curb prafiIe. As specified in the "Guideiines for Stormwater Management", page 5-4; WhEIe a 5I{?p1rig SWFiIe i9 Iess thari 1o0 feet lvng, and slopes 1°Io ❑r less, the swale may be considered flat. Driveways alang the rflad vvill obstruct the swales, creating a series of indavidual stivales that are gess than 100 feet long and less than 1 D°Ia, and 6 inches deep between the driveways. `Pherefvre, e.ach swale wili be cansidered as flat. The grass swales were calcuiated to hvld the first 112" of rainffall runvff vver the asphait street areas. Figure 2, page 6-3, of the "Crraidelines for Stormwater Managernent", by 5pvicane Cvunty Engineers, was used for rainfal intensity and duration oceurring at a Y D-year storm firequency. The Rational and B4wstring Meth4ds vvere used to calcuiate the peak starmwater runvff for each basin, and the type and number of drywelis needed for each basin based on the stvrage capacity of the swaIe In accordance with "Sal Survey, Spokane County, Washington°, 1968, the sails at the site are categvrized a.s' Gm6, Garrisan very graveUy loam,... simiIar tn Ganisvn gravefly lvarn, except that the svrface layer is very gravelly. Midilome East 2nd Addition CC]RB Z1+LET AND I]RIV'EWAY CUT CALCULATIDNS. 1} For eaeh basirY, calcutatians have been made far the curb inlet lvcated at a law point Each curb inlet lvcated at a lvw point is si2ed tv accept the flow vf stvrmwater from the cvntributing pavement subbasin. 2) In some cases, additional curb inlets are required vn ccantinuvus ,grades. For example, additivnal curb inlets wHi intercept the stormwater on continuous grades along VercPer J.3nVe, Runoff calculations have been made fflr the pavecnent area in these subbasins. - 3) T3riVeway cuts vn continuaus grades will intercept the stnrnnwater flow in each pavement subbasira prior to the curb inlet at the lavv pvint. A typical calculativn has been made for a driveway cut for the pavement in subhasin H4, since this subbasin has the largest paVement area of any subbasin in the plat, it will have the largest peak flaw vf any subbasini. A daiveway cut af 11.35 feet is required for this subbasin, but is less than the typical driveway cut of 24 feet. Since, the runofF will be Iess in aIl other pavernent subbasins, dnveway cuts for the other subbasins will be sufficiently vvide (24 ft.) to intercept the stormwater in the cvrresponding subbasins.
