Each basin is compased of two subareas, 1} grass lawns arid svva.les, and 2) irnperuious roofs, - driveways, and asphalt paved streets Storinvvater flovvs overland across raofs, grass Iawns, a.nd driveways arrad in#a grass surales beMnd the street curbs Storrmwater ftom asphalt streets flvws along t.he curb gutters and into the grass swales tfaraugh driveway curb cuts and curb apenings located at low poincs in the curb prafile. As specified in the "Guidelines for Starznwafier IWlanagetnent", gage 5-4; where a sloging swate is less than ]GO ~ feet 1flng, and slapes ar 1ess, the swale ma.y be considered flat I3riveways along the road wiil obstruct the swales, creating a series of individual swales that are less than ] OU feet long and Iess than 1 4%, and 6 inches , deep between the driveways. Therefore, each swale wilI be consitlered as flat. Storinwater will fi1l each swale to - a6 vnch depth and then vverflow acrtass each drivevvay until the water reaches the finat swale and dryvveid(s) f. . The grass swales were calcuiated to hold the first 112" of rainfaIl runoff aver the asphalt street areas - Figure 2, page 6-3, af the "+Guidelines fQr S#onmwater Management", by Spokane County Engineers, was used ' for rainfall intensity and duration occumng at a 10-year starm frequency. The Rational and Bawstring 1Vlethvds were used to calculate the peak stormwater runvff for each basin, and the i type and number of drywells needed for each basin based an the starage capacity of the swale ~ In accordance with °Sod Survey, Spokane County, Washingtan", 1968, the svils at ttae site axe categorized as. Each curb irlet lacated at a low pvint is sized to accept the flow nf starrrzuzater from the contributing pavement subbasin ~ 2) In svme cases, additionaI curb inlets are required on continuaus grades Runv$' calculations have been - made for the pavement area in these subba.sins. 3} Tlriveway cuts on cantinuous grades vfitl intercept the stormwater flaw in each pavement subbasin prior to the curb inlet at the low poirat A typica,l calculation has been made for a driveway cut far the - pavement in subbasi-n 345, siace this subbasin has the largest pavement area of ariy subbasin in trie plat, it wil1 nave the 1argest peak flavv of any subbasin.
